Dzień 6 21.06.
Znad Niagary dotarliśmy do hotelu o 1 w nocy, więc od dzisiejszego ranka zmiana czasu przestała nam dokuczać. Pogoda do biegania doskonała więc od trochę późniejszego rana niż dotychczas rozpoczynamy nasz biegowy dzień.
Na plac przed City Hall wbiegamy wraz z wybiciem zegarów z sąsiedniej wieży. Czeka tam na nas spora grupa Lionów z DG Sandy oraz PDG Ann Stevens na czele. Wkrótce dołącza do nas mer miasta John Tory. Kolejny raz przedstawiciel miasta zaskakuje nas zarówno znajomością dotychczasowej historii biegów LCR, jak i ogromnym poparciem dla Ukrainy.
Wśród witających nas gości jest jeszcze jedna osoba nr 1 i to nie tylko w Toronto lecz w całej Kanadzie. To Jessica Victoria Cianchino Miss Earth Canada 2022. Jessica pochodzi z Filipin, a w przeszłości w 2019 roku zajęła 2 miejsce w konkursie Miss Asia Pacific Int. Jak to się stało, że do nas dzisiaj dołączyła? Mama Jessiki działa w lokalnym Lions Club, a ona sama jest executive director w YPAM, organizacji non- profit wspierającej dzieci w potrzebie i ich rodziny. Bardzo się ucieszyliśmy, że dzisiaj LCR zyskał taką piękną, lecz przede wszystkim wspaniałą i oddaną sprawie pomocy dzieciom fankę.
Wieczorem spotykamy się z klubami z Torono. Na czoło wybija się LC Toronto Kaiteur. W tym klubie większość stanowią imigranci z Ameryki Płd. Kaiteur to wodospad w Gujanie o wysokości 226 m, a więc blisko 5 razy wyższy niż Horseshoe w Niagarze. Jest z nami blisko 100, niezwykle pozytywnie i serdecznie nastawionych osób. Spritus movens w tym przypadku znów jest Andy Etherington. To ona towarzyszyła nam wczoraj do końca, a w domu wylądowała o 2.30. Dzisiaj znów zorganizowała nam cały wieczór. Co także godne uznania, to uruchomienie lokalnej produkcji „naszych” biegowych T- shirtów w Kanadyjskim wydaniu. Zysk z ich „sprzedaży” wesprze dzieci na Ukrainie.
Andy z Ann Stevens, jej następczynią i Julianem kolejnym następcą oraz wieloma Lionami z Toronto, będą nas wspierać na ostatnich metrach w Montrealu. Zbliża się północ, więc to już prawie za 2 dni.

Day 6 – June 21, 2022
From Niagara we arrived at the hotel at 1 am, so from this morning the time change stopped bothering us. The weather for running is excellent – we started our running day a little later than usual.
We run into the City Hall square with the sound of clocks from the neighboring tower. A large group of Lions led by DG Sandy and PDG Ann Stevens are waiting for us there. Soon we are joined by the City Mayor John Tory. Once again, the city representative surprises us with both the knowledge of the history of LCR runs and their huge support for Ukraine.
Among the guests welcoming us there is another No. 1 person, not only in Toronto but throughout Canada. This is Jessica Victoria Cianchino – Miss Earth Canada 2022. Jessica is from the Philippines and in 2019 she took 2nd place in the Miss Asia Pacific Int. How did it happen that she joined us today?
How did it happen that she joined us today? Jessica’s mom is a member of the local Lions Club, and she is the executive director at YPAM – a nonprofit organization that supports children in need and their families. We were very happy that today LCR has gained such a beautiful, but above all, wonderful fan devoted to helping children.
In the evening we meet with clubs from Toronto. LC Toronto Kaiteur is the leader here. Kaiteur is a waterfall in Guyana with a height of 226 m, which is almost 5 times higher than Horseshoe in Niagara. There are nearly 100 people with us – extremely positive and cordially oriented. ‘Spritus movens’ in this case is Andy Etherington, again.
It was she who accompanied us yesterday to the end, and landed at home at 2.30 am. Today she organized the whole evening for us again. It is fantastic that a local production of ‘our’ running T-shirts in the Canadian edition was started. The profit from their ‘sale’ will support children in Ukraine.
Andy with Ann Stevens, her successor and Julian (the next successor) and many Lions from Toronto, will support us in the last meters in Montreal. It’s almost midnight, so it’s almost in 2 days’ time.
